This post is sponsored by Terry Naturally® Vitamins. All opinions are my own.
In the cold winter months, my family loves having a warm, cozy breakfast. This Berry Baked Oatmeal is absolutely perfect! You can even make it ahead of time for meal prep and warm it a slice before you enjoy it. The berries are naturally full of sweetness and when baked, burst in your mouth with sweetness so you don't need much sugar in the recipe. My son and I went crazy for this berry baked oatmeal that we have been eating as a snack in bar form. It can be eaten cold or warmed up with some peanut butter or a little syrup.
Berry Baked Oatmeal Ingredients
- Quick oats- I like quick oats for baked oatmeal better than old-fashioned but either will work.
- Baking powder
- Cinnamon
- Milk of choice
- Applesauce
- Eggs
- Maple syrup
- Vanilla
- Berries- fresh or frozen work really well! Choose your favorites: cherries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries.
- Almonds- optional but makes a pretty top on the oatmeal with the berries!
How to Make Baked Oatmeal
Baked oatmeal could not be easier to make! Just mix together all of your ingredients in a bowl, transfer them to a sprayed baking dish and bake for about 30 minutes until set. So easy! I love how you just throw it together and then bake. You can even prep it the night before to save time in the morning.
What is baked oatmeal?
Baked oatmeal is oats baked with milk and eggs and your choice of flavoring. It cuts in pieces almost like a piece of banana bread instead of in a bowl eaten with a spoon like regular oats. You can make it in so many different flavors like chocolate peppermint baked oatmeal, pumpkin baked oatmeal, banana almond baked oatmeal, or my favorite: dark chocolate blackberry baked oatmeal.
Are baked oats healthy?
Yes! Baked oats are very healthy in my opinion as a registered dietitian. Oats are rich in fiber and have some protein. With the addition of milk, eggs and protein powder, this baked oatmeal becomes a nutrient packed meal.
Antioxidants for wellness
Berries are amazing nutrition powerhouses with lots of fiber (especially raspberries) and antioxidants. Antioxidants are important for neutralizing free radicals and protecting cells from oxidative stress and damage. It is important to get antioxidants in your diet and they can be taken as a supplement as well. I like the Terry Naturally® ViraPro® which is an elderberry immune blend. It has vitamin A, C, D3, E, zinc and selenium providing important antioxidant.*
I like to take elderberry to support strong immune function. I love Terry Naturally because I find the products to be great quality and like they make a difference in the way that I feel. You can take Terry Naturally ViraPro daily to support your immune system or take it when you want additional immune support.
