Movie Night Snack Board
Movie Night Snack Board is loaded with popcorn, fruit, veggies, pretzels, candy and more for a better for you snack board that the whole family will love!
We have been doing so many family movie nights lately with the freezing weather and with it getting dark so early. The most important part of movie night is obviously the snacks and drinks so I wanted to share with you a better for you movie night snack board that we love making for the family. We all know that movie night snacks are the most important part about movie night! We make it different each and every time depending on what we have on hand. Feel free to load this board with whatever foods you like!
What to put on a Movie Night Snack Board
-Popcorn! I feel like popcorn is a must for any movie! I love making homemade popcorn at home with avocado oil and nutritional yeast. The fiber helps fill you up while still being lower calorie. Avocado oil adds healthy fats and the nutritional yeast adds a cheesy flavor and B vitamins- so good!
-Candy- I said better for you- it's still okay to have some treats! The kids think it is such a treat to have candy so I add a little candy to the board to make them oh so happy. The key is to balance the snack- a little candy with other foods with fiber, protein and nutrition. You can also choose low-sugar candy which still taste great.
-Veggies- I love adding some raw crunchy vegetables to my board like baby carrots, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, peppers or celery. Pair it with a light dip or hummus. Veggies are a great alternative to other crunchy salty snacks thanks to the fiber and vitamins in veggies. I love having some pretzels AND veggies for a balanced but fun snack.
-Fruit- My family loves fruit and the options are endless. Some great fruits for a snack board are clementines or oranges, apples, berries, dried fruit like raisins, cranberries or cherries, etc. Fruit is high in fiber, vitamins and water to help hydrate you.
-Nuts- Nuts are a crunchy snack that is higher in fiber, vitamins and protein than most other salty snacks.
-Cheese- I love sliced cheese or cheese sticks for a little protein and calcium.
My entire family loves all of the drinks from Zevia! Troy taught the kids about root beer, cream soda and ginger ale over the last year and they are obsessed. Mom isn't the biggest fan of the kids having a sugar bomb so I like that the drinks from Zevia have zero sugar and are naturally sweetened.
The Best Movie Night Snacks
Make this board fun! Have any of the foods you like and pair them with some more nutritious foods like fruit, veggies, hummus and nuts for a more balanced snack if you like. It's all about making memories with your family and friends and I hope this movie night snack board gives you a couple of ideas for a fun family night!
