Caramelized Onion Burgers
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of BUBBA burger. All opinions are 100% mine.
Caramelized Onion Burgers are loaded with easy caramelized onions, melted cheese, grilled beef BUBBA burgers, tomatoes and lettuce!
With the weather being warmer, I am so excited to fire up the grill again! Even with the best of intentions to grill all winter long, we usually stop grilling around November for the season. There is nothing like those first burgers cooked on the grill for the season. I made these Caramelized Onion Burgers to share and I think you'll love them!
My kids get so excited when we are outside grilling, especially when we get to eat outside. They love making their own burgers and adding their own toppings. Burger night is fun for the whole family! Sometimes, they pile their burgers so high that they can hardly take a bite!
Ingredients for Caramelized Onion Burgers
When making my burger, I love a ton of toppings. These burgers are fully loaded but feel free to customize them to your liking.
-Original beef BUBBA burgers
-A delicious hamburger bun
-Caramelized onions- the key to these burgers! Made with butter.
-Swiss cheese- but feel free to use any cheese you love. Cheddar works great as well.
-Sliced tomatoes
-Lettuce
We love BUBBA burgers because they are ready to cook and cook in only about 10 minutes. The burgers have only 1 ingredient- 100% choice beef chuck. No additives or preservatives which is great. You do not need to defrost them and can take them right from the freezer to the grill or skillet. They're super convenient on a busy night and are great for serving at a party as well. Everyone can build their own burger. Find more inspiration here!
How to Make Caramelized Onions
Troy loves onions on his burgers so I decided to play around with making caramelized onions. I kept it really simple with onions- use yellow or white onions and butter. Just heat the butter in a skillet and then add in the thinly sliced onions. The butter gives the onions a rich flavor that can't be missed!
Cook the onions on medium-low and stir them every few minutes so that they do not burn. Do not stir them too frequently so that they can caramelize on the bottom. If the onions are sticking to the bottom, you can add in a couple of tablespoons of water so that they do not burn. Continue to cook onions for about 15-20 minutes until onions are caramelized. These store well in the fridge all week if you have extras.
What do you like pairing your burgers with? We usually grill veggies to go along with our burgers or make some kind of salad. When we have lots of garden tomatoes, we love slicing them up in a variety of different salads. Try my Strawberry Kiwi Spinach Salad or my Panzanella Salad.
