I have struggled with good sleep for at least the last 8 years or so. I always have a lot on my mind and often have a hard time falling asleep. Therefore, I am always working on ways to help me sleep better. Today, I want to share my best tips and tricks that I use for a good night's sleep including sharing the Dream Deep pillow I'm loving. **Click here to get 20% off your Sutera order today.
5 Tips for a Good Night's Sleep
1. Drink a cup of tea
2. Make your bed the coziest place
3. Reduce screen time before bed
4. Write down your thoughts
When you have items on your to-do list on your mind or different thoughts, it can be hard to calm down and fall asleep. I either email myself whatever I am thinking such as "make sure to buy more salsa" or "help Adalyn with math homework" or I write it down on a piece of paper next to my bed. I find that getting it off of my mind helps me sleep better.
5. When nothing else works, try melatonin
I try to do these other things first but when I am really having trouble falling asleep, I take a 3 mg melatonin supplement to help me sleep. I also try really hard to calm down because even melatonin won't work when you're anxious about falling asleep.
On the nights that I have trouble sleeping, these are the things that I do to get a better night's sleep. I hope these ideas help anyone who is also having trouble!
