The Best Snack Bars on the Market + a HUGE Bar Giveaway
A review of the best snack bars on the market including granola bars, protein bars, vegan bars and more!
My family loves bars and they are awesome to take on-the-go! Through 10 years of blogging and writing product reviews, I have tried A LOT of different bars. I am passionate about trying every product that I can so that I can give my honest opinion about them if someone asks me about a certain kind of product. Today, I want to share some of my favorite snack bars on the market.
Phyter Plant-Based Bars
This is actually my first time trying the Phyter bars and I really like them. The Peanut Butter and Jelly flavor is my favorite. You have to keep these bars refrigerated meaning that they are quite fresh. Ingredients include berries, peanut butter, oats, sunflower seeds, raisins and more. I really like the texture of the oats and sunflower seeds in the bar and the creaminess of the peanut butter. This bar has 210 calories, 6 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber and 6 grams of added sugar.
Kate's Real Food Bars
My husband who barely ate bars prior to the last month or two became obsessed with these bars. They are his favorite! He says that they are the best bar that he has had. He loves the softer granola texture of the bars. The bars are organic and made with hemp and flax- you know I love my omega-3! Each bar has 240-260 calories which is a little high for me but a serving on the package says is half of a bar. My husband goes on a run and then needs some fuel after and these are perfect for him.
Unite Bars
The Unite bars were another new one to me and I totally fell in love with the PB and Jelly flavor. It is delicious! Each bar has 10 grams of protein which I like because it helped to keep me full. They're gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free. Each bar has 180-190 calories and 5-6 grams of fiber. The protein comes from peanut butter and egg whites. The other flavors are really fun: Mexican hot chocolate and churro. Yum!
Bob's Red Mill Bob's Bar
The biggest bar lover that I know is my 3 year old son Oliver and these Bob's Bars win his vote for the best bars on the market. The bars are gluten-free and have a base of oats and peanut butter. The bars have about 180 calories, 2 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein. They are pretty soft and dessert tasting.
Amsety Bar
These bars come in peanut butter and dark chocolate flavors which are tasty! The dark chocolate one has lots of tiny chocolate chips so if you are a chocolate lover, you may enjoy this bar. One bar has 200 calories and 9 grams of protein. They aim to have nutrients to support liver health.
My son is a huge Rise Bar fan! These bars has 15-20 grams of protein and only 5 ingredients. They are made with a base of nut butter, protein powder and honey. Some are made with whey protein and some are made with pea protein. They are a little higher in calories with somewhere around 270-310 calories per bar. They travel really well since they are firmer and would be great after a long hike.
Atlas Protein Bars
Atlas bars have 15 grams of protein from grass-fed whey protein. I like the mint chocolate chip flavor the best! They have only 2 grams of sugar and 5 grams net carbs. They are keto friendly and have Ashwagandha which is used for energy and is considered an adaptogen. These are more for adults I would say than children and have more of a firm protein bar consistency. Pretty good though!
Flapjacked Cookie Bars
I love these Flapjacked Cookie Bars because they taste completely like a cookie or brownie treat but have prebiotics and probiotics which are good for gut health. The cookie bars are gluten-free and have 10 grams of protein each. They only have 3 grams of added sugar and 2 grams of fiber. They are loaded with peanut butter, date paste and oats as some of the main ingredients. These are different than other bars because they are more cookie textured than others.
RBar Bars
We have been a fan of RBar bars for years! The regular variety is dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan. They are energy bars and I enjoy the chocolate peanut butter flavor the most. I am new to trying the protein bars and really like the honey nut variety. These have 10-11 grams of protein and do not melt in the summer sun so they are great on the go.
Wella Bar
These refrigerated bars are made with a base of almond butter and honey or peanut butter and honey. They are best served cold, otherwise, they fall apart a bit. They have a rich nut butter flavor with some chopped nuts throughout. Each bar has 8-13 grams of protein depending on the size- some are 1.4 oz and some are 2 oz. These bars are organic and gluten-free. My husband liked these and so did my baby.
Corazonas HEARTBAR
These oatmeal square bars are great if you like a more soft and chewy bar. I love the banana walnut flavor. They have 6 grams protein, 190 calories and 5 grams of fiber. I love that these have a ton of fiber! They're made with a base of oats and date paste. The bars contain phytosterols which can help to lower your cholesterol. Troy has high cholesterol despite living a healthy lifestyle so these would be great for him. They remind me a lot of a cookie.
Other honorable mentions that I didn't have on hand that are my favorite bars are RXBars- especially the chocolate cherry flavor. I also love and of the bars from KIND. Every single nut based bar flavor of theirs is wonderful! Kodiak Cakes just came out with granola bars that Troy LOVES.
