The Best Low-Sugar Snacks + Bars Giveaway
11 of the best low-sugar snacks that taste great and are rich in protein and fiber!
I am a huge snacker and so are my kids. We love to snack, snack, snack all day long. Therefore, I try to make most of our snack choices healthy ones that are low in sugar and have fiber, protein or vitamins and minerals that our bodies need. Today, I wanted to round up some of my favorite low-sugar snack ideas.***Keep reading for a Munk Pack bars giveaway!
This list of low-sugar snacks is talking about added sugars. For example, fruit naturally contains sugar which is not a concern of mine so I included it on the list. I feel my best (and my kids act their best when we eat foods lower in sugar) so I always have a running list in my head of low-sugar snack ideas!
The Best Low-Sugar Snacks
1. Munk Pack Keto Nut and Seed Bars
These new-on-the-market bars are so delicious! I highly recommend the peanut butter and dark chocolate flavor which has only 150 calories, 5 grams of protein and less than 1 gram of sugar. It tastes like dessert but is better-for-you. These bars use a sweetener called Allulose which is sound in maple syrup, figs and raisins. I love a nut based bar and these being lower in calories and not having a lot of sugar are perfect for a snack for the kids or I.2. Popcorn
When I'm feeling munchy, a big bowl of light butter popcorn is perfect. It typically has zero sugar and tastes great. Try these 5 healthier popcorn mix-ins.3. Nuts
Dry roasted nuts of any kind are tasty and contain no sugar typically. I love roasted cashews, almonds, pistachios and peanuts especially. Nuts are a good source of fiber, protein and healthy fats.4. Munk Pack Keto Granola Bars
These bars are new and come in great flavors like maple pecan, almond butter cocoa chip and coconut cocoa chip. They have 140 calories, 4 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber and are also sweetened with Allulose. The first ingredient in each bar is either almonds or pecans which provides a good dose of healthy fats and fiber but tastes like a dessert bar.**Use code MINUTRITION for 20% off Munk Pack keto products.
5. Cheerios and milk
My kids and I don't have cereal for a meal too often because it doesn't fill us up for long enough but I love it for a snack. Regular Cheerios are low in sugar and paired with milk, make a great snack.6. Fresh fruit
Though fruit does contain sugar, it is natural sugar which I have no issue with. Load up on any kind of fresh fruit for a no-added sugar snack that tastes sweet. I also love homemade no-sugar added applesauce.7. Peanut butter toast
Definitely one of my top go-to snacks is peanut butter toast. I always choose a whole grain bread such as 100% whole-wheat bread or a whole-wheat English muffin or bagel. I eat this snack at least once a day and also love almond butter or cashew butter.8. Low-sugar Greek yogurt
When having a bowl of yogurt, sure, you can have a bowl of plain Greek yogurt but in my opinion, that is too sour on its own. I like the flavored varieties and choose ones with low amounts of added sugar in them. I typically top mine with chia seeds, a small handful of whole-grain cereal and sometimes a drizzle of nut butter.9. Cheese and whole-grain crackers
A classic snack! I like slicing my cheese really thin so I can have more cheese and cracker combos. For the crackers, choose something whole-grain like Triscuits or Wheat Thins for more fiber to help keep you full for longer.10. Homemade healthier ice cream
I have a million healthy ice cream recipes on my blog because they are so good and my kids love them so much. I recommend blending frozen fruit with yogurt and a splash of milk for a delicious low added sugar treat. You can also add protein powder if you want to increase the protein. I love this chocolate peanut butter banana ice cream, Oatmeal Cookie Banana Ice Cream and 3-Ingredient Strawberry Banana Ice Cream.
11. Roasted chickpeas
Definitely one of my favorite snacks is roasted chickpeas. I've made BBQ roasted chickpeas, regular roasted chickpeas and salt and vinegar roasted chickpeas. Years later, these recipes are still some of my most popular. I think it is because they are high in protein and fiber, taste delicious and are easy to make.Giveaway
The giveaway will be for 2 of each flavor of Munk Pack bars to 2 different winners!
