Peanut Butter Banana Green Smoothie
This Peanut Butter Banana Green Smoothie is loaded with nutrients including protein from peanut butter and milk and fiber, vitamins and minerals from bananas and spinach. Ready in 2 minutes, this healthy smoothie is perfect for breakfast or a snack!
I have something that I am so excited to share: my kids finally started to like smoothies!! I've tried for years to get Adalyn to drink a smoothie and she never takes more than a few sips. Finally, something changed and my kids love smoothies. I wanted to make one that would fill us all up for a few hours and one that the kids and I would both love and came up with this peanut butter banana green smoothie!
The kids have always liked all of the ingredients that are in a smoothie (greens, fruit, nut butter, milk, etc.) but never wanted to actually drink a whole smoothie. Therefore, I rarely made myself a smoothie even though I love them and they help me to feel my best. We are always short on time on school mornings and are racing around like crazy people so breakfast is always something that can be put together in a few minutes.
Our "problem" that makes it a little bit difficult is that we all love a ton of variety and barely want to eat the same thing twice in a week. We love having a variety of hot oatmeal, waffles, Greek yogurt, cereal, pancakes, overnight oats and now, we can finally add smoothies to the list.
We have been having all different kinds of smoothies and you're not going to believe what happened. I was making a smoothie and it had no veggies in it. Adalyn told me, "Mom, you need to add spinach to that smoothie." I was so excited! She added the smoothie right to the blender and drank it all up. That's a mom win right there!
-Baby spinach
-Peanut butter
-Milk
-Optional: protein powder, chia seeds, ground flax seeds
For the type of peanut butter, feel free to use whatever you like. I like using a natural peanut butter with only peanuts and salt as the ingredients. Skip the ones with added sugar and oils if possible. Sometimes, I add protein powder, chia seeds or ground flax to my smoothies for extra nutrients. It is totally up to you!
This Peanut Butter Banana Green Smoothie is my go-to smoothie. Sometimes, I skip the peanut butter and add vanilla protein powder instead but to me, banana is essential for making my smoothie rich and creamy which is how I like it. I recommend adding the vanilla protein powder for a bit of sweetness. This smoothie is rich, thick and creamy and tastes more like dessert than a healthy meal.
I served these easy healthy smoothies in Mikasa Cheers Stemless Wine Glasses. We also have the drinking glasses of this line and I love how each one has a different pattern. Mikasa items make a great gift or are perfect for everyday use. They are super affordable- an 8 pack is about $40 on Amazon!
Enjoy!

How to Make a Peanut Butter Banana Green Smoothie
This Peanut Butter Banana Green Smoothie is so easy to make like any other smoothie. You can feel free to use frozen spinach or fresh baby spinach. Either will work. The frozen spinach is awesome because it doesn't go bad. You can keep it in your freezer for months compared to fresh spinach that won't last longer than a week. I prefer to freeze my bananas because I like a cold, thick texture for my smoothies. I like using real milk in my smoothie recipes for protein and calcium but if you prefer a milk alternative, that is fine too.For the type of peanut butter, feel free to use whatever you like.
