Changing Your Dog's Nutrition for the Better
This post was sponsored by Side By Side as part of a Two-Post Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.
A couple of weeks ago, I talked about how I took Side By Side's Personalized
Pet Assessment for my dachshund Ava who has
some skin issues and continuous sassiness. It was recommended that she
try their Harvest Freeze Dried Pork and Rabbit recipe. She has been eating it
for a couple of weeks now and I wanted to share how it is going. It is a
grain-free food that has cooling properties which is good for Ava's hot little
body. The food is freeze dried and just requires warm water to rehydrate it to
be ready to serve to your pet.
First of all, Ava loves the food which is important because she doesn't love all foods. She pretty much wolfs it down in 30 seconds because she loves it so much. This type of food is supposed to help with aggressive behaviors and stubborn attitudes. Ava totally has both of these so I knew that it was worth a try. Her fur seems to be filling out a bit which is awesome because she has had balding for years! Her food contains rabbit, celery, sweet potatoes and nutritious seeds.
Ava has some kind of allergic reaction happen to her when walking out in different grasses but we have never been able to figure out exactly what, why or how to help it prior to it happening. By eating this nutritious food, Ava's immune system is supposed to be boosted which can help with the reactions. We are loving this warmer weather and getting out for walks. Ava has a tendency to be sedentary at home but I know that we need to get her moving to be healthy.
My dogs mean the world to me and therefore, their nutrition is important to me. I pay close attention to the nutrients that my kids are getting and it is important to pay attention to what our dogs eat as well.
The dogs are loving the Rabbit Medallions and Duck L'Orange treats. They go crazy for them! They are made with only duck and orange. No added colors, flavors or additives which is so rare in pet treats. The ingredients in the Side by Side products are clean and ethically harvested. They offer customized diets with whole food nutrition based on different characteristics of the pet, breed, age, activity and health concerns.
Side by Side food contains all-natural proteins, finely ground bones and organ meats which are full of nutrients, vegetables such as carrots and sweet potatoes, apples and healthy fats, herbs and supplements.
The craziest thing happened last night and I don't know if it has anything to do with the food or not but I have to share anyways. Ava is very mean to my daughter Adalyn and growls at her but is nice to my son. Yesterday after I put Adalyn to bed, she called out to me that Ava was in her room!! That's a big improvement. She was laying on a blanket that had half fallen off of Adalyn's bed. I lifted her up and put her on the bed to see what she would do and she burrowed under the covers to go to sleep. I was so happy that she was not growling for once. Maybe we are at a turning point? We will see!
Overall, we are loving the Side by Side food and treats for
the dogs. I am excited for Ava to continue to eat it to see if it continues to
help her issues. Take the Side by Side Pet Assessment to find out what food, treats and supplements may be
