Baklava Oatmeal
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Quaker Oats Company. All opinions are 100% mine.
What are some of your favorite desserts? One of my top favorite desserts is baklava. I love the crunchy pistachios, sweet honey, crispy phyllo dough and the overall flavor. When there is a tray of baklava, I definitely have at least a few pieces. Baklava is delicious but definitely more indulgent.
This baklava oatmeal is so easy to make that you can eat it everyday if you want. I put a poll up on Facebook asking which recipe you wanted: baklava oatmeal or baklava overnight oats. The consensus was hot baklava oatmeal because of the cold weather. I am with you! This spring or summer, I will have to make a baklava overnight oatmeal recipe to share!
For this recipe, I used oats, milk, honey, pistachios, cinnamon and shredded wheat cereal for crunch. So delicious! All ingredients to help you feel your best in the morning. I usually also include chia seeds and ground flax in my oatmeal- feel free to do the same. Also, if you want to give this recipe a protein boost, add in a scoop of protein powder or mix in some Greek yogurt.

- 1/4 cup shredded wheat cereal, crushed

- Enjoy!
- **Optional: can add chia seeds, ground flax or protein to oatmeal mix if desired.
- ***Can also cook on the stovetop if desired. Can sub water for milk but oats will be less creamy.
For the oats, I used the new Miller's Batch™ Canadian Prairie Oats from from Quaker Oats available at Kroger. This hot cereal is available only in Michigan and Colorado. If you live in another state, you can always use Quaker Old Fashioned Oats for this recipe. Miller's Batch oats are carefully cultivated and come from one Canadian farm.
These cereals are organic and the oats are extra thick. Perfect for a hot and hearty oatmeal breakfast. I think that the package is awesome as well! They taste great and are perfect for a hot or cold breakfast. We love eating oatmeal for breakfast and these are great. I look forward to experimenting with them more. I love making tons of new oatmeal recipes!
