Our Favorite Summer Adventures
This has been the best summer of my life! I was going to write a post about it but SURPRISE: I quit my job and transitioned to blogging full-time and staying home with the kids. I'm thrilled! Since Troy is a teacher, that means that we have the whole summer at home together. Almost every single day, we went on an adventure and had so, so much fun as a family! Troy is now back to work and I am missing our time together (though he gets home at about 4 PM so really, we can still do things).
-Rode my first 4 wheeler- We went up north with Troy's cousin Jennifer and had the best time. I had never been on a 4 wheeler and neither had Adalyn and as you can see, we both loved it!
-Visited West Michigan with my in-laws- I LOVE Fennville and Saugatuck and had an amazing trip on the West side of the state of Michigan.
-Went strawberry picking
-Visited various parts of Lake Huron with my parents at the farm.
-Oliver got baptized! Thanks to his godparents my brother Edwin and sister-in-law Olivia.
-Visited one of our favorite spots where kids can play in super shallow water- Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor.
-Had all the family to the farm for Oliver's baptism which was so fun after telling them all about it for 10 years.
-Visited our local pool 1-2 times per week.
-Ran through the sprinkler at home.
-Laughed and laughed and spent tons of time with family
-Hiked sand dunes at Island Lake Recreation Area
-Ate ice cream x 1000
-Visited different beaches in the area- Belle Isle, Island Lake Recreation, Spencer Park, etc.
Here are some of my favorite things that we have done together this summer:
-Hiked Sleeping Bear Dunes! One of the most memorable parts of summer. Troy wore both kids (his choice) and we loved the gorgeous views.
-Tons of family walks- Almost every single day this summer, we went on a walk together. I love walking so much and we went to all different parks and places to walk. We went to the Detroit Riverfront, our parks in Grosse Pointe, Belle Isle, River Bends Park and much, much more!
Featured in these photos are the Kara Jeans and Penelope Pullover from prAna. prAna is a brand of exercise and lifestyle clothing that I have loved for years. All of their clothing lasts a long time. I have clothes that are 5 year old from prAna that are still in perfect condition. It has been cooler towards the end of August and I've been able to wear this cute outfit from prAna which will be great for fall and winter. They use organic cotton in their clothing and the clothes are very soft and good quality.
I have had a pair of Kara Jeans from prAna in the past and I love them. They last a long time- I have had my other pair for about 2 years and they still look awesome. They are long so that you can roll them over on the bottom. I like the Penelope Pullover which is good for cold fall days and of course winter. It is cozy and can be dressed up slightly or worn very casually.

It was truly an amazing and memorable summer and I am so thankful for all of the great experiences that we have been able to have.

Looks like you are having a summer filled with all the important things -- family and beautiful places.
