Greek Spiralized Fries
Greek Spiralized Fries are crispy, flavorful and loaded with your favorite toppings including cucumber, hummus, tomatoes, feta cheese and green onions!
Anytime I see the word Greek, hummus, feta, Mediterranean or anything similar, I am instantly intrigued and sold on the recipe. I have been wanting to make these spiralized fries for the longest time and finally got around to doing so. I have made similar items before such as my Greek Chopped Salad with Roasted Chickpeas, Greek Meatball and Zoodle Bowls, Greek Egg Casserole, Healthier Mediterranean Nachos and Mediterranean Layered Dip. Whoops! Told you I love this type of food.
I have only made spiralized fries once before which is just crazy because they are so delicious. It was time to make them again. My sister was just talking about sweet potato fries and I recommended it to her to try out her spiralizer for super crispy and fun curly fries. Since then, they have been in my mind and I had to have them!
First, you spiralize the potatoes. Then, you bake them until they are super crispy. You can use a super thin spiralizer or a thicker one for thicker fries- your choice. Then, just top with all your favorite Greek toppings such as diced tomatoes, cucumbers, green onion or red onion, bell pepper, kalamata olives, feta cheese and more. Finally, top with your favorite hummus for a delicious creamy dip that goes well with the crispy fries.
My tip is to trim the spiralized potatoes so that they are not too long which makes them harder to serve. This is recipe that is better eaten with a fork and would be fun for an appetizer party. This dish is vegetarian and can easily be made vegan by omitting the feta cheese.
I partnered with my favorite Sabra hummus for this recipe which came out awesome! I used the Sabra roasted pine nut hummus which is one of our favorites. Right now is a very special time of year: National Hummus Day (5/13)! Happy Hummus Day my hummus loving friends! Hummus is the perfect creamy dip for this recipe- you will love it! This appetizer is so good that it becomes an unofficial meal! I could eat just this for dinner and be happy.
