Fruit and Yogurt Cereal Cups
Fruit and Yogurt Cereal Cups make a fun breakfast option that are customizable and tasty. They are kid-friendly and packed with whole-grains, fiber and protein!
My daughter and I have been having so much fun having breakfast together! We have the same taste in food so it makes choosing what to have for breakfast super easy. On the weekends, we eat breakfast with my husband also and sometimes, he will make us something like eggs or homemade waffles but often times, Adalyn and I want our own thing.
This is what we typically have for breakfast: Greek yogurt bowls, smoothies, oatmeal with nut butter, waffles with nut butter or cereal with milk. Unless I have something planned, I usually let her pick what to have for breakfast and we both eat the same thing. I think that she loves having what Momma is having and we enjoy a nice breakfast together.
To make it into our regular breakfast rotation, the food has to be quite healthy, have protein and/or healthy fats and be quick to make. We have no foods that are off limits but I do try to teach healthy habits to Adalyn, even at age 2.
She knows that protein makes you feel strong, milk helps you grow strong bones, fruits and vegetables help you stay healthy, etc. I love sharing my knowledge of nutrition with her to raise a healthy little girl.
We decided to switch up our typical breakfast rotation for some New Year fun and make these super easy fruit and yogurt cereal cups. They still fit the bill for being nutritious, rich in protein and being quick to make. Adalyn and I had fun making these together and of course, we enjoyed eating them as well.
You can feel free to customize them with whatever fruit and Greek yogurt you have on hand. You could do chocolate Greek yogurt and bananas drizzled in peanut butter or strawberry yogurt with a variety of fresh berries.
As you can see, these went over very well in my house. Adalyn was most excited about the raspberries on top and ate two of these cups for breakfast.
