2nd Trimester Pregnancy Update
Besides baby/pregnancy reviews and giveaways, I have not updated you all on my pregnancy in awhile. I thought I would share some info about what is going on with me! I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and feeling well.
# Weeks: 22 weeks pregnant (about 5 months)
Symptoms: Overall, I am feeling excellent. I have been experiencing randomly occurring pains in my stomach. I went to the doctor for it and he said that they are growing pains which are spasms happening in my uterus (totally normal). Some days, I am super tired, some days I feel fine. I feel run down a lot and try to take it easy as I need to.
Sleep: *Knock on the wood*, sleep is going very well. I am sleeping 8-9 1/2 hours per night which is more than I was sleeping before pregnancy. I wake up once to use the bathroom each night and wake up a few other times in the night but fall right back asleep.
Sex of baby: It's a girl!!!!!!!!!!
Movement: YES!!! I have an anterior placenta which means that the placenta is in the front of my stomach. Therefore, I feel less movement than I would if I did not have it. My doctor says imagine having a mattress as a barrier to the feeling of movement. Starting at week 21, I have started to regularly feel movement. On 5/13, Troy got to feel the baby kick for the first time which was so awesome.
Exercise: I am still exercising 6-7 days per week. Many days, it may just be a 1-2 mile walk. About once per week, I am incorporating my favorite 8 minute arms video and a few planks. Some days, I walk 3-5 miles and have even biked a few times. A few days ago, I even ran 2 miles which I was really excited about since I have not ran in a long time. I feel so much better physically when I exercise than when I don't. If I skip my exercise before work, I notice that I am so much more tired at work. I hope to keep up some form of exercise through my pregnancy.
Maternity clothes: NONE of my old pants fit (besides stretch pants and leggings). Luckily, I have 2 pairs of maternity work pants and 1 pair of maternity skinny jeans that fit me really well. I am just starting to wear maternity tops on occasion. Most of my regular tops still fit though as long as they are longer. What I really need are maternity shorts. The options out there are few and they are often too long, baggy and plain ugly.
Stretch marks: None yet! Most nights, I put on Mustela stretch mark oil which I love to keep my belly moisturized.
Cravings/Aversions: I am sad to say that I have not had many cravings. I wanted to have some crazy ones but nothing out of the usual yet. I am loving tons of peanut butter, fruit, Greek yogurt, pizza, green smoothies and more. I have no food aversions.
Well, that is all I can think of right now. Pregnancy is going super well for me. Troy and I are so excited to meet our baby in September.
