Trident Dental Health + Giveaway

Oral health is so important yet many people do not know a lot about how to protect their teeth. Trident gives some information on teeth and how they can help you and your kids keep their mouths healthy. I am a big fan of Trident and have been chewing it my entire life. I remember when I was young, my Busia (grandma in Polish) would always buy my siblings and I trident gum. My favorite flavors are spearmint and the original peppermint.

·         Did you know that Trident was the first sugar-free gum in the US. It has been around for 50 years and helps people maintain oral health.
·         Chewing Trident gum can help to fight cavities.
·         Trident is part of an ongoing 10 year partnership with the SmilesAcross America program which helps provide oral disease prevention services for children in poverty. Trident has donated more than $2.5 million to support this program which has helped over 2,000,000 children!!

This month is National Children’s Dental Health Month and Trident shared some oral health tips with me to help keep our teeth clean:
-Brush for at least 2 minutes, twice a day to help prevent cavities and have healthy teeth.
-Children who are 2+ should use fluoride toothpaste. Fluoride helps to fight cavities and some of it comes in our water and food.
-Starting at age 1, children and parents should visit a dentist regularly.
-We should floss one time per day to remove plaque and food.
-By chewing on sugar-free gum, our teeth become cleaner after eating and between brushing. It can help to stimulate saliva flow and reduce the risk of cavities by reducing plaque acids, reducing debris and strengthening teeth.

Of course I believe in eating right and exercising but taking care of your teeth is another factor in maintaining health. Take care of your teeth and help your children take care of their teeth. I work in a nursing home where unfortunately, many of the residents are missing their teeth. Even with dentures, it can be difficult to chew. Maintain your dental health while you are young to help prevent future problems.
