Numi Pu-erh Tea Review
I was recently contacted to try a variety of the Numi Pu-erh teas. Despite being a tea lover and having tried many varieties, I had never tried Pu-erh tea before. The Numi teas are organic and come in different flavors including cardamom, jasmine, basil mint, ginger, chocolate and emperor’s pu-erh.
Pu-erh tea is higher in caffeine than most teas and is similar to coffee. This is good if you need a boost of energy. Pu-erh is an ancient tea and is known for its potential healing properties and antioxidants. It comes from 500 year old organic, wild tea trees in Yunnan , China .
I tried the basil mint tea first and enjoyed it. It is different than other teas I have tried before. It has no sweetness to it which is good for those who do not like sweets. I actually really liked having the savory herb of basil in my tea. It was not too overpowering and was flavorful.
The other tea that is interesting is the chocolate Pu-erh. It is a really neat option to have instead of hot chocolate because it has a chocolate flavor but has less than 5 calories. It is a mix of dark pu-erh, organic cocoa nibs, whole vanilla beans, orange peel, nutmeg and cinnamon. I think that this is perfect for a cold day to cozy up with. I love having a huge mug of tea when I am cold (or anytime really).
Something really neat about Numi tea is that the tea bag is made from natural biodegradable filter paper. The outer wrapping of the tea bag is made of 75% recycled content.
If you have not tried pu-erh tea, I would recommend it. This Numi tea is high quality, organic tea that comes in many different unique flavors.
