Fun Foodie Christmas Gifts

As a dietitian and food lover, I like to get food related items for Christmas. My mom has given me hot chocolate, dried fruit, snacks and other foodie type gifts in my stocking. I love trying new items so they are always fun to receive. Here are some items that I tried recently that I think would make fun gifts for your family and friends.

  1. Shape Tea- Relax- I was sent this gorgeous tea from Shape tea to try. I think that the dried herbs and flowers are so pretty. This tea is made to help you relax. I think that it is the perfect pre-bed drink to help you calm down in the evening. It is made with Organic Shatavari, Organic Fennel, Organic Roses, Organic Green Rooibos, Organic Lavender, Organic Osmanthus, Organic Hibiscus and Natural Flavors. This tea is lightly flavored and I really enjoyed it. Throw this tea in a loved one’s stocking for a delicious treat.

  1. The Coffeecake Connection Company- My Busia (grandma in Polish) loves coffeecake and I think that these cute, small coffeecakes would make a great addition to a Christmas gift. Throw in a couple of coffee mugs and some coffee and you got yourself a great gift. I was sent the apple caramel cinnamon flavor, pumpkin and triple berry.
These coffee cakes come in a large size or the mini size that I tried. Four of the mini coffee cakes are $23.95 and come in single-flavor packs or a mixed variety. I loved the pumpkin flavor especially. I ate the entire thing in one sitting. I loved the streusel topping as well. It was good room temperature but even better heated for a few seconds in the microwave.

These are all available in gluten-free varieties. They only contain seven ingredients: butter, sugar, flour, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and baking soda (+ pumpkin and spice).

  1. Tea Gallerie Tea- The Tea Gallerie has many different unique flavors of tea to offer. They come loose leafed. What I thought was neat is that they have a kids line which is made from all fruits with no real tea added. This can be brewed like regular tea so that kids who are too young to drink tea can participate in teatime. I tried the kiwi flavor which was great. I also tried the Christmas Brew which was full of holiday flavor and would make a great stocking addition.

  1. The Greek Yogurt Cookbook- By now, you may know that I love Greek yogurt. I do not know of too many uses for it besides eating with granola, using in a smoothie, replacing sour cream with it, etc. This cookbook by Lauren Kelly is full of all different recipes using Greek yogurt. I love this since Greek yogurt is packed full of protein, probiotics and calcium. I eat Greek yogurt daily and love the different recipes that this cookbook has using this yogurt. This would be perfect for the healthy cook in your life.
Here are some of the recipes that this cookbook includes:

• Applesauce Carrot Spice Muffins
• Kale Artichoke Dip
• Goat Cheese, Pepper, and Mushroom Pizza
• Lamb Kabobs with Rosemary
• Blueberry Vanilla Cheesecake with Pecan Crust

Merry Christmas!
