PR Bar Review
I was recently contacted by PRBars to try their nutrition bars and review them here on the blog. With a
name like PR, of course I had to try them. Every runner wants a PR!
The bars come in different flavors including apple pie,
yogurt berry, iced brownie, chocolate peanut and double chocolate. They all
sounded great to me. I shared a few of these bars with my sister who is a
dental assistant and many times, only has a couple minutes to eat for lunch. I
knew that these would be good for her since they are quick to eat and provide a
boost of nutrition.
My favorite bar flavor was the apple pie. It is coated in an
icing and is chewy. One bar has 200 calories, 6 grams fat, 160 mg sodium, 1 g
fiber, 15 g sugar and 15 g protein. When I look for a bar, I want it to be
around 200 calories and have at least 8 grams of protein so this one fits the
bill.
Unfortunately, the ingredient list was less impressive. It
contains multiple unnatural ingredients including palm oil, soy lecithin,
glycerin, corn syrup and more. These bars are tasty but I wish that their
ingredient list was simpler and included more wholesome ingredients.
These bars are not a horrible choice though. They are eaten
by proathletes including pro football players and Olympic swimmers.

own.

While I'm definitely on the same page as you are on the ingredients, there are some snacks that aren't optimal, but are better than others!
