Shiloh Farms Review and Giveaway
I had first
reviewed Shiloh Farms products last year. I most enjoyed the salt-free pretzels
since I am always trying to limit my sodium intake. I recently contacted Shiloh
Farms again to try their products and was sent a whole different variety of
products to try.
I was sent the
Shiloh Farms:
-Almond flour
-Sprouted no salt 7 grain bread
-Spelt sesame sticks
-organic dried pears
-Sprouted 7 grain bread
-Organic dried apricots
-French lentils
The dried fruit
is unsulphered giving it a darker appearance than conventional dried fruit. The
apricots are Turkish and organic. I like eating these plain as a snack. They go
along well with nuts. Also, I like to chop up dried apricots and have them in
oatmeal or in cookies. The pears are organic as well and are Packham pears.
They do not have any sugar added and are naturally sweet.
The sesame sticks
are a favorite treat of mine. They are not super nutritious but are tasty and
make good additions to trail mix. The almond flour will be fun to experiment
with. Almond flour is just ground up almonds. It can be used in place of
regular flour and is higher in protein, fiber, vitamin E and magnesium. It is
much lower in carbohydrates than traditional flour.
I was most
excited to try the Shiloh Farms sprouted no salt 7 grain bread. I am a big fan
of sprouted bread products and this one is great. With no sodium, it really
peaked my interest because unfortunately, most breads are very high in sodium
since manufacturers use it as a preservative. I enjoyed this toasted with
peanut butter and another time with hummus and tomatoes on it. You could not
tell the difference between a regular higher sodium bread and this one. The
regular 7 grain bread was tasty as well.
