Life Lately
The end of summer and now beginning of fall has been both busy and fun. Lots of things have happened and I want to share them with all of you.
My sister Natalie graduated with her degree in Dental Assisting- congrats Nat!
We picked a ton of peaches from my parent's peach trees. This was maybe only 1/4 of the season's crops. Wow! Most abundant year of peaches ever- I'm not complaining!
Ava and Jaxen cuddled up as usual like it is freezing- on a seventy-something degree day.
My Great Aunt Emma's 93rd birthday celebration
We went back up to my parent's farm and picked a ton of fruit.
Pears and concord grapes.
Granny smith apples
Just look at those grapes!! So tasty.
I love this picture- my dad with his grapes.
Pressing the grapes to be made into wine. My sister puts the grapes in the de-stemer, I turned the crank and my dad caught the grapes coming down. The stems fall out on the sides. This helps the fruit to be fermented.
Mom getting the grapes ready to go.

Overall, it has been a great fall so far. Troy is super busy with teaching and also taking Master's classes 3 nights per week. I am acclimated to my new job and really enjoy it.
Hope you all have been having a great fall!
Let me know what you have been up to in the comments.
Wow, your parent's farm looks so cool! I for one would LOVE coming and harvesting all that amazing looking fruit, especially those grapes; I haven't had concord grapes off the vine in I don't know how long!
ReplyDeleteIt really sounds like your Fall got off to a fantastic start :)
If you're ever in Michigan, come on over!
DeleteMy mom made grape jelly from the puny little grapes we had back in the day (in Ohio). Thanks for sharing your fun family photos.
