Easter Traditions
Easter has always been big in my family. I am taking Good Friday off of work and am going to my parent's farm to celebrate Easter and partake in all of our wonderful traditions. These three days are easily my favorite of the entire year.
We color eggs with crayons and make one for each person in the family
My mom makes a lamb out of butter (a Polish tradition)
We get an Easter basket full of food blessed
When my Dzia Dzia (grandpa in Polish) was alive, it was a tradition to make a huge fruit salad together. Now that he is gone, I treasure those pictures and memories that I have of us. I now make the fruit salad on my own and will continue to do so here on out.
My sister and Busia (grandma in Polish) make a huge potato salad. My brother and Busia also make a very good lemon coffee cake but I do not have any pictures of that.
So as you can probably tell, I love Easter and cannot wait for it!
What are some of your favorite Easter traditions?
that is a LOT of fruit. i love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful traditions! I'm spending my first Easter without any family (only hubs) so it will be strange for me to not have my normal traditions.
ReplyDeleteI love that fruit salad too!
:)
I'm also Polish! We also decorate and personalize our eggs, have lamb butter, & bless our basket full of food :) I love your fruit salad tradition!
ReplyDeleteI love reading your post because it brings be back to when my Dzia Dzia and Busia where alive :) We really didn't have huge traditions like you guys had, but it was nice to spend the holiday with them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter weekend! It looks like you already got a start on it xD
I love that your blog is about healthy living and nutrition! It's going to give me so many great ideas to try.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful Easter! Looks like you've started it out the right way :)
