The Best Products of 2017 Part 8
1. Halo Top Ice Cream
I have heard about Halo Top for years and finally got the chance to try it myself. I have had other "healthy" ice creams before and some are good and most are horrible. I was not sure what to expect but others raved about Halo Top so I knew that I wanted to give it a try. Halo Top comes in many fun flavors including red velvet, oatmeal cookie, peanut butter cup, mint chip, birthday cake, lemon cake and more.
When this package arrived, I busted open the lemon cake and immediately fell in love! It was creamy and tasted rich while being much healthier than many other ice creams. For an entire pint, there are between 240 and 360 calories depending on the flavor. It is rich in protein and you can eat a couple of servings guilt-free.
My daughter is totally obsessed. She loves the birthday cake flavor the best. I can't decide which is my favorite though I really like the peanut butter cup and oatmeal cookie. I tried each flavor (you know, for testing purposes....) and there was not one flavor that I disliked. What amazed me was how creamy each ice cream was despite being lighter.
2. Degustabox
I love trying different subscription services for food because I love trying new kinds of foods. Variety is the spice of life! This box came loaded with different foods to try- much more than a typical subscription box. One of my favorites were the Lovely Candy chewy caramels. I opened these right away and loved the chewy caramel treat.
I had guests coming over so I used the Bush's Hummus Made Easy and garbanzo beans to whip up hummus in 2 minutes in my food processor. It turned out quite good! My husband likes quick oatmeal in the mornings to eat at work sometimes and he prefers a sweet version. I feel good about giving him these Better Oats steel cut oats with flax seed for nutrition and he likes the maple and brown sugar flavor.
I do not have the confidence yet to try the cricket chips but maybe soon! There are definitely some fun products in this box that I had not tried yet. Each month, you will receive 10-15 full sized products to try. The price is $20 per month which is not bad for all of this food! I would definitely recommend it for trying new products.
3. Peter and Pat’s Pierogi
I am 50% Polish and pierogi are an important part of my family. We eat them every Christmas Eve and several times through the year. They I was sent these pierogi to try and they are so good! They are potato and cheese flavored and are made with a mix of 4 cheeses- cheddar, farmers, parmesan and Swiss cheese. I typically boil mine or pan fry them. They are great in a stir-fry of peppers, onions, sausage and maybe some kale. My daughter loves them too.
I made these for my siblings with peppers, onions and sausage and they loved them. We ate the whole bag between 6 adults and 1 toddler- even though the bag says 12 servings- whoops! : )

Cricket chips, REALLY? I couldn't see the picture of the cricket chips, so I did some research and came up with this article.http://www.eatthis.com/chirps-cricket-chips So there are bugs in the chips? This article says "one cricket in each chip??? What is healthy about that? I guess I wouldn't have the confidence in eating them either, LOL! Wow, what else is coming in the food line? Thanks for the interesting article! Happy Resurrection Weekend to all!
