Hidden Greens Chocolate Banana Smoothie
Hidden Greens Chocolate Banana Smoothie is ready to drink in two minutes and is perfect for picky eaters who are not the biggest fan of greens!
We are on a one week countdown until Troy has to go back to work. I am so sad about it this year because he makes the best stay-at-home dad. Teachers go back a week before the students at school and the official first day of school is the day after labor day.
What has been so awesome about summer is not having to plan meals ahead of time. Troy makes Adalyn whatever they want for breakfast and our dinners are whatever we feel like that night. As someone who gets overwhelmed easily, this meal planning break has been great for me.
Anyways! Since it is now time for back to school, I have to think of quick meals for my family. Breakfast needs to be made the night before or in two minutes or less the morning of. Lunches are packed the night before and dinners are often prepped over the weekend.
I created this chocolate banana smoothie with hidden greens for Adalyn and I for busy school mornings. Adalyn loves "choc" as she calls chocolate and bananas. She even loves greens so it does not really need to be hidden for her but for kids who do not like greens, the chocolate base of this smoothie is perfect for hiding the green color. Also, if you use baby spinach, it will not add a taste to the smoothie.
You can customize this smoothie however you want. I went back and forth whether to add Greek yogurt, what kind of milk, peanut butter or not, etc. I decided to keep it simple with frozen bananas, baby spinach, milk and chocolate powder. Adalyn loved the smoothie and it ready in two minutes.
