Fully Loaded Ham Sandwich
This Fully Loaded Ham Sandwich is packed full of fresh vegetables and a tasty Greek yogurt spinach dip!
My husband is the Sandwich King. He loves sandwiches so much and makes the best ones. He is one of those people who makes a 5 inch tall sandwich and is able to fit the whole thing in his mouth. When we don't know what to make, we often make sandwiches.
They are filling, completely customizable to whatever you have on hand and always taste awesome. When it comes to making sandwiches, we both love a lot of vegetables on our sandwich. They taste the freshest this way and you get an extra boost of nutrients.
I remember when I was younger, my mom, siblings and I would go to our local fruit and vegetable market and get a whole bunch of delicious produce. Right when we got home, we would make veggie sandwiches which were loaded with all of our favorite vegetables. I wanted to recreate the sandwiches that we always used to make as kids. For a boost of protein, I added in some ham which tasted great on there.
For the condiment, I made my own creamy dip. I used Greek yogurt plus spices for a delicious dip that is protein rich and better-for-you than your typical mayo. Top it all on your favorite whole-grain bread and you have yourself one awesome sandwich.
For this recipe, I used Oscar Mayer Selects Natural applewood smoked ham. I have been buying Oscar Mayer lunch meat for years and my husband and I really love it for sandwiches, paninis and eating it on its own. This line of lunch meat has no artificial ingredients or preservatives and is minimally processed. It has no artificial flavors, colors and is gluten-free. This is great because you can still serve your family the lunch meat that they love without any of the ingredients you don't love. It comes in 5 varieties and can be found at most grocery stores.
