How to Lower Your Monthly Costs

My husband and I often talk about how we hate high, reoccurring costs. This includes car payments, internet, heat, water, etc. We do whatever we can to lower our costs to help save money which we can then use on whatever we want to spend on.
Some tips to lower your monthly costs that we use include:
-Call the company- If you are paying a high price for cable or internet, call the company and ask for a better rate. Troy does this for us every 6 months and we have received many deals this way such as free cable or a reduced internet rate or increased internet speed. It doesn't hurt to try!
-Pay bills on time- I hate, hate, hate interest costs! Make sure you pay your bills on time every month to make sure that you don't have to pay any additional fees. If you are forgetful, schedule a reminder in your phone or whatever calendar that you use so that you never miss a payment.

-Lower the heat- Troy and I keep our house quite cool so that we can keep our heat costs down. I once read that every degree you lower the temperature, you save 3% on your heating bill! Cool- literally.

-Use Ebates and Retail Me Not- These are my two favorite ways to save money on online and in-store purchases. For Ebates, just search which online store you are looking for, click on the store, and make your purchase, you will then get money back on your purchase (usually 2-10%). For Retail Me Not, search the store you are looking for for online and in-store coupon codes. I have saved tons of money doing this.

-Shop grocery sales- When I shop for groceries, I shop at two stores that have already low prices without coupons such as Randazzo which is a local fruit market and Aldi. For the rest of my grocery needs, I shop sales and use coupons. This savings adds up a ton. Find a local blog that matches up coupons to store sales for the best deals. My favorite that I have been using for years is the Bargains to Bounty blog.

-Save on your cell phone bill- Want to save money on your cell phone bill? Introducing T-Mobile Simply Prepaid™ plan, you can do just this. I had not until recently and wanted to share this plan with you. If you want to lower your cell phone costs, you may want to consider this plan. For $40 per month, you can get unlimited talk and text plus 4G LTE as part of the T-Mobile Simply Prepaid plan. No overages, credit check or annual service contract required.

Many prepaid services have slow data, a spotty network and second rate phones. With this one though, you get 4G LTE data on T-Mobile. I refuse to have slow service so this is great. They have a phone called the Galaxy Avent that this plan works on. I purchased this phone online at Walmart.com and had it shipped to my house. You can also have it shipped to your store for free.

This is really nice if you want to save money on your cell phone bill. My family recently made some changes to our cell plan in order to save money which I am very happy about.
